Simple 20 Minute Korean BBQ Sauce
Simple 20 Minute Korean BBQ Sauce
This is a simple sauce that takes about 20 minutes to prepare and it's packed with flavor! Use it on beef, pork or chicken as a marinade and basting sauce. I use it on my Double Cut Pork chops with Korean BBQ Glaze.
Start by sauteing 1/2 an onion in 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil.
Next add about 1 cup of drained canned pears and some granulated garlic to the pan along with 3 tablespoons of the pear juice and 1/4 cup of water.
Put the lid on and steam the onions and pears until the pears are warm and very soft.
In the meantime, mix together 3 tablespoons each, Gochujang red pepper paste and Hoisin Sauce and water in a small bowl.
When the onions and pears are soft, put them in a blender and add the gochujang-hoisin mixture. Puree until smooth.
This spicy sweet sauce is excellent on beef, chicken, pork or grilled vegetables.
Enjoy your Korean BBQ sauce!
