Chicory Coffee Steak Seasoning

Chicory Coffee Steak Seasoning

Coffee is a wonderful thing to add to a steak and chicory has a flavor that is stronger than regular coffee.  In the directions for brewing it says to use about half as much chicory coffee as regular coffee to get the same intensity of flavor.

This makes it exceptional for a rub. A little bit goes a long way. The dark and bitter notes of the chicory coffee blend nicely with the bay leaf, cumin, garlic and onion that really elevates the flavor of a good steak.

Some salt, sugar and sweet spices add complexity and the cayenne peppers give it some kick.

This rub is tasty for any cut of beef but we also like to use it for pork ribs!

Cheers!
