Frenchmen Street
Frenchmen Street is where it's at for the current real New Orleans music scene.
We like a lot of places on Frenchmen Street but our hands down favorite is Bamboula's, don't miss it. We have seen a few bands here and are never disappointed! I really like that it's clean and beautifully lit.
Bamboula's is a colorful place. We love to spend time here whenever we're in NOLA. Always a great New Orleans style jazz band and great drinks. We haven't eaten here but the food I've seen looks great.
As a music venue, Bamboula's has lots of room to dance and it's very intimate. The band members are often out on the floor with the audience and everyone has a great time.

Frenchmen Street has so many great music places you need to move around a little to experience the whole thing. There's even a fun street market that goes on until all hours of the morning if you'd like to do some souvenir shopping.

Frenchmen Street is also full of colorful street performers. Look for the lady who plays her cello while being cycled around Frenchmen on a Very large reverse tricycle lit by gas torch lamps.
The parking in the area is extremely limited so we recommend getting an Uber or Taxi in and out of the neighborhood. Taxi's are plentiful!
